CHICAGO CENTRAL SECTION
NATIONAL COUNCIL OF NEGRO WOMEN

NCNW CHICAGO CENTRAL SECTION

Chicago Central Section of NCNW consists of a group of professional women who are eager to develop programing, foster relationships and lead women and girls of African decent. We meet once a month to plan events and activities for our constituents. We have formed a partnership with a local shelter to assist with their immediate and long term needs.

We have had two training seminars with young ladies between the ages of 13-18. Seminar 1 discussed HIV/AIDs awareness and Seminar 2 covered lifestyle etiquette necessities (i.e. eating properly, online etiquette, resume & job hunting, etc.)

WHAT WE OFFER

The National Council of Negro Women acts as a central source for program planning and seeks to fill the gaps that exist in our communities. Through its core of volunteers in 34 states, NCNW addresses local needs, through organized strategies to bring the added support of a network of thousands of women whose collective efforts enhance community service and actions.

Since our founding, NCNW has focused on fulfilling our mission by launching programs that provide critical services to women, children and families in our local communities. Together united with our members and volunteers Chicago Central is dedicated to the betterment and empowerment of community and organization. Even a brief sampling of our programs and partnerships illustrates the breadth and depth of our program offerings.

The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. is the premier African American membership organization for women. It is the only organization that focuses on how we, as African American women, can harness our power and potential to improve our own quality of life, help our African American community and aid our sisters in Africa.
